Barrow stands up to bigotry

by Barrow UAF
Issue No. 2195

Around 100 people attended an anti-homophobia event in Barrow-in–Furness last week, organised by the local LGBT group.

The organisers and speakers highlighted homophobic attacks that have occurred in the town recently, and why this cannot be tolerated.

Speakers also pointed out the link between these attacks and the recent rise of the fascist British National Party.

After the rally, there was a parade through the town to a venue where singer Claire Mooney, a Unite Against Fascism member, played a gig for the crowd.
