Glasgow says, 'We won't pay for the economic crisis'

Issue No. 2197

Union activists and anti-cuts campaigners from across Scotland marched in Glasgow last Saturday.

The 2,500-strong demonstration blamed the fat cat bankers for the economic crisis and put a simple message—“we won’t pay!”

Unison union speakers addressing the rally said that this was just the start of a much longer battle against cuts in the public sector.

The Glasgow EIS education union, which held a successful march of 10,000 earlier this year, also joined the demonstration.
