Show support for Joe Glenton

Issue No. 2197

Joe Glenton is facing increasingly difficult conditions in the Military Corrective Training Centre in Colchester.

Joe is serving a nine month sentence after refusing to return to fight in Afghanistan.

He has been accused of using homophobic language to insult an officer – a charge he flatly denies.

As a punishment the authorities are trying to force him to sleep under a dirty blanket. This has previously led to other soldiers becoming infested with body lice.

Joe is also being forced to wear boots, despite having a broken toe.

His legal team describe this as “tantamount to torture”.

Joe has been diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

He and his legal team were assured that he would receive suitable medical examinations and treatment for his condition. No such treatment has been offered.

Show support for Joe by sending letters, cards and books to Joe Glenton, Military Corrective Training Centre, Berechurch Hall Road, Colchester, CO2 9NU.
