BT to cut 5,000 more jobs

BT bosses are planning to sack a further 5,000 workers.

BT financial director Tony Chanmugam, described by the Sunday Telegraph as a “respected cost-cutter”, has already cut BT’s workforce from 162,000 to 127,000.

BT wants to save £2 billion next year, despite announcing full-year pre-tax profits of around £1.1 billion compared with a £134 million loss a year ago.
