The elections to the PCS national executive saw minor gains for the right wing 4themembers group.
They gained three positions on the executive at the expense of the centre-left Democracy Alliance.
The left still has a big majority on the executive, but the vote, and the low turn-out, is a warning about the continuing need to take the union’s fights forward.
Paul Williams, a Socialist Worker supporter on the executive, was one of those to lose, though he only missed out by five votes.
Left wingers were re-elected to the president and vice-president positions.
