Pool protest

Issue No. 1886

AROUND 700 people marched through the centre of Worthing, West Sussex, on Saturday in protest at the threatened closure of the town's only public swimming baths.

This was the biggest march in the town for many years. The proposed cut is one of the "options" the council is offering.

The council-half Lib Dem, half Tory, with a Lib Dem leader-has organised a residents' questionnaire to give the appearance of a democratic seal of approval for the cuts or a tax hike.

The choice is a 14 percent council tax rise or cuts!
