Back left wing Unison candidate

Issue No. 2204

The ballot in the election for Unison general secretary closes on Friday 11 June.

Socialist Worker is calling for a vote for left wing candidate Paul Holmes.

Paul has been nominated by 52 branches. He is branch secretary of Unison’s Kirklees branch, one of the biggest in the union and with an 80 percent membership rate.

His campaign material says he is standing to be “a fighting general secretary on a worker’s wage”.

He hopes his campaign will signal a rebuilding of union branches and a strengthening of the left in the union.
