Staff and students at Stow College, Glasgow, held a protest on 2 June to protest at a Scottish Funding Council (SFC) decision to withdraw 40 percent of courses.
The SFC decision came after the college took the decision to withdraw from a costly city centre merger, citing job cuts and fears about the quality of education.
Members of the Unison and EIS unions and the Stow Students Against the Cuts joined the protest. If the SFC pushes the cuts through, Stow College would no longer be considered viable and would close – resulting in the loss of 300 jobs and 4,000 student places.
