Two survivors of the Mavi Marmara aid ship to Gaza led a demonstration of over 500 in Manchester last Sunday.

In tears, Paveen Yaqub from Oldham told how her friend was killed.

“He was armed with only a camera but the Israelis shot him in the face,” she said.

Babu Adam Zanghar, who tried to take aid collected from across Bolton, was on board when the Israelis attacked.

“They were on a mission to kill,” he said. He was tied up for hours and witnessed people being beaten.

Local FBU firefighters’ union secretary Kevin Brown called for a boycott movement like the one against apartheid South Africa.
