Cuts may lead to three million jobless

Issue No. 2206

Unemployment could soar to close to three million by 2012, says the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

More than 750,000 public sector workers could be thrown on the scrapheap thanks to government cuts.

The CIPD says that this level of unemployment could last until 2015.
