Walsall bakers threaten strike

Bakers at Maple Leaf in Walsall are balloting over threats to sack workers who refuse to agree to new pay rates.

Maple Leaf is a speciality bakers, producing bagels, croissants, in-store bakery products and hand-held snacks. It runs Britain’s biggest bagel bakery.

The BFAWU union members’ ballot was set to begin on Tuesday.
