The spirit of international resistance ran through the meetings, with much discussion of the turmoil and fightback in Greece.
“The issue of the resistance to the attacks in Greece is everywhere,” said Thanasis Kampagiannis, a member of the Greek Socialist Workers Party.
“People want that level of fightback in every workplace and country, so there has been lots of interest in what is happening.
“The debates at Marxism help organise the discussion outside the event in the working class movement. They are not something isolated from it.
“For instance, we have discussed the concrete issues we face in Greece to stop the cuts—such as how do we break from the euro and the eurozone, and what kind of rupture that should be.”
Greek workers are an inspiration to those preparing to fight the cuts in Britain.
