On the picket line to defend pay and conditions

Strikes by Glasgow Life (previously Glasgow Culture and Sport) workers last Saturday and Sunday shut down the People’s Palace, and led to the closure of an exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art (pictured).

This is the latest action organised by the Unison, Unite, GMB and Bectu unions as part of their ongoing dispute over attempts to attack workers’ conditions and impose a pay freeze.

Further selective action will target a major sporting event at Scotstoun athletics ground, and all workers are due to strike together again on Monday 19 July, affecting sports centres, libraries, galleries and museums.
