More than 60 people attended a public meeting on Thursday of last week in Ealing, west London, to express their vehement opposition to the government’s cuts to public services.

John McDonnell MP spoke on the impact of the budget and what we can do to fight back at the meeting organised by Ealing Trades Council.

Dominic McFadden, from the PCS union, explained that there was in excess of £175 billion of tax that had been avoided, evaded, written off and not collected.

Nick Grant, of the NUT union, spoke about the alarming threat to schools and jobs. The audience also heard from a Unite member and British Airways employee.
