Housing strike ballot in Cumbria

Issue No. 2210

Repairs and maintenance workers at Cumbria’s Home Group housing association have begun an industrial action ballot over a pay freeze.

The 55 workers are members of the GMB union, which says months of pay talks have come to nothing.

Union organiser Kevin Young said, “GMB members are in no mood to play games. Management need to wake up and smell the coffee.” The ballot closes on Friday 23 July.
