SW's anti-cuts poster is a hit

Issue No. 2210

Socialist Worker’s anti‑cuts pull-out poster is going down a storm.

Trade union activists report that the colourful graphic that shows why we don’t need to slash public spending is proving a big hit on noticeboards all over Britain.

Organisers of a 120-strong anti-cuts meeting in Bristol last week brought a bundle of posters to pass out to activists.

“We gave out more than 80 copies, and they were snatched from our hands,” says Paul Vernell, an NUT union rep in the city.

“Lots of people said that the poster was already up in their workplace—particularly in local schools—but they wanted more copies for friends and colleagues.

“A group of firefighters visited my school and saw the poster on our NUT notice board. They were really impressed and asked if I had any more copies—which I did.

“So they took a stack for fire stations in Bristol.”
