Sheffield Supertram workers may strike to defend rep

Supertram workers in Sheffield are voting on strike action over the de-recognition of one of their union officials.

The ballot by 270 Unite union members was called after the company refused to negotiate with the union representative, claiming he had “failed to meet the standards expected”.

The vote closes on Thursday. Unite said it was also starting tribunal proceedings.
