Jaguar veneer workers reject deal

Issue No. 2214

A group of Jaguar workers have voted for industrial action and rejected a £1,000 transfer bonus to move from Coventry to Birmingham.

Workers in the Unite union are demanding a higher payment for the move.

Workers at the Browns Lane Veneer Manufacturing Centre in Coventry produce supplies for both Jaguar and Land Rover car plants.

More than 350 workers took part in a ballot last month, with 66 percent voting for industrial action.

They have the power to hit production.
