Give bosses at Vi-Spring a restless night

Issue No. 2217

Workers at bed manufacturer Vi-Spring in Plymouth are being balloted for strike action over the sacking of their GMB union shop steward.

The company is claiming that rep Jimmy Dent invited a full-time union official to the plant in July without getting management permission.

Around 130 of the 160 staff are GMB members.

A strike could take place by 17 September if the ballot is successful.
