Southwark pensioners ask who really makes council decisions?

by Mary Phillips
Issue No. 2220

The Southwark Pensioners Group in south London held a Question Time on Friday of last week with Southwark councillors.

It had been agreed with the leader of the council that we would be able to use the town hall in Peckham Road in future.

But the chief executive has put her foot down on the idea of the group using the town hall as their base.

We are worried that the council may be being run not by the councillors but by officers.
