Around 50 people came to the launch of the updated ‘One Million Climate Jobs’ pamphlet in the House of Commons on Thursday 14 October.
The pamphlet, produced by the Campaign against Climate Change Trade Union Group, argues for a massive programme of job creation to address the environmental and economic crises.
The fully-costed plan to create jobs involving everything from building wind turbines to insulating houses would create masses of jobs.
The campaign is backed by several national trade unions and received a huge boost when it was backed at the TUC.
The meeting was addressed by Caroline Lucas MP and John McDonnell MP, PCS assistant general secretary Chris Baugh, TUC environmental policy officer Phillip Pearson and Jonathan Neale, the pamphlet’s editor.
