March against injustice of deaths in custody

Families and friends of people who have died in police custody will march thorough central London this Saturday, 30 October.

The protest, initiated by the United Families and Friends Campaign, will assemble in Trafalgar Square at 12 noon.

Sieta Lambrias, the sister of Mikey Powell who died in police custody in Birmingham in September 2003, said, “The struggle for justice for my brother, and all who died at the hands of the state, goes on.

“We ask people to come and support us. We cannot keep silent and condone these killings.”

Protesters will march to Downing Street.

Family camapigns attending will include those of Brian Douglas, Roger Sylvester, Ricky Bishop, Jason Mcpherson, Habib Ullah, Blair Peach, Leon Patterson, and Paul Coker

Marchers are asked to wear black and bring campaign banners.
