Demand justice for sacked PCS reps in Hastings

Issue No. 2226

Hastings Borough council has passed an official motion calling for a public enquiry into the actions of managers at CSA Hastings.

This follows the dismissals of five PCS union reps since November 2007.

Sam Buckley and Eddie Fleming are among those union reps forced out.

The PCS has branded the site “The Bermuda Triangle of the civil service”.

A tribunal found that PCS branch chair Eddie Fleming had been unfairly dismissed—yet management refuses to give him his job back.

The union says that bosses have targeted those who have challenged bullying in the workplace.

The PCS wants a full inquiry by the House of Commons DWP select committee into the treatment of workers.
