The police crackdown on students involved in the Millbank protests is continuing—63 people have been arrested so far, and many face serious charges.
This is a clear attempt by the state to harass and intimidate the whole movement.
A meeting to defend the right to protest was to be held in London on Tuesday to bring together arrested students, trade unionists, MPs, and campaigners including MPs John McDonnell and Jeremy Corbyn and Mark Serwotka, PCS general secretary.
We need to stand in solidarity with all those arrested. Some 3,000 people have signed a solidarity petition online, with thousands more joining a Facebook group.
A broadly based defence campaign is needed alongside radical resistance to the attacks on education.
