Thousands of students across Italy marched and occupied against attacks on education last week.
Activists in Pisa occupied the leaning tower.
They dropped a banner saying “No to education reform” from it, while other students occupied the university.
In Rome and Florence, riot police attacked students as they marched through the streets.
Marches have also taken place in Greece and France in solidarity with the movement in Britain and against neoliberal reforms to education proposed by their own governments.
And in China, students at a high school in the Guizhou province trashed their canteen in protest at rising prices.
Guizhou province is one of the poorest in China.
