Marching in Portsmouth

Issue No. 2235

Up to 500 people marched against the cuts in Portsmouth last Saturday.

Anti-cuts activists were joined by students—angry over fees—on the march, which was organised by Portsmouth Against Cuts Together (Pact).

Jon Woods, convenor of Pact, said, “The government plans to cut our services, pensions, benefits and education. We must protest.” The local council is planning to slash 400 jobs.
