Migrant workers defend their rights

Issue No. 2236

Refugee and migrant workers’ groups held a meeting in central London last Saturday following a series of horrendous immigration raids on workplaces in which workers have been arrested and deported.

The meeting agreed to produce a new bust card explaining people’s rights and to organise advice and training sessions.

Some 70 people attended a meeting to raise awareness of the impact that planned cuts in legal aid will have on migrants and asylum seekers in Canterbury last Saturday.

The meeting was called by Network for Justice and supported by Dover Detainee Visitor Group, Kent Law Clinic at the University of Kent and Kent Refugee Help.
