Hundreds marched to defend the postal service in Birmingham

Over 450 postal workers and their supporters took to the streets of Birmingham last Saturday.

The lively march, organised by the Midland region of the CWU union, was thick with banners and followed by a rally.

Lee Baron spoke of the importance of fighting back—and defying anti-union laws, if necessary.

“We are the last line of defence and we’d rather break the law than break a picket line,” he said.

His call was backed by Dave Ward, the CWU’s deputy general secretary.
