Slam the brakes on DSA closures

Issue No. 2237

Members of the PCS civil service workers’ union want to strike against job cuts and office closures in the Driving Standards Agency (DSA).

There have been angry members’ meetings in the offices, and union reps in the department have said that they want a ballot to fight attacks.

Leaked documents, which Socialist Worker printed extracts from last week, showed that DSA management had been secretly planning to close down the Cardiff office.

It also plans to close the Newcastle office.

The national union should give permission for the ballot as soon as possible.
