Hundreds of bus routes are set to disappear as councils announce a series of cuts to bus services.
The Campaign for Better Transport says the cuts will hit poor, elderly and disabled people the hardest. Transport workers face losing their jobs.
Rural bus services, which are already limited to certain times of the day, will be slashed. Many people who cannot afford a car will be left unable to get to work.
As well as the council cuts, the government is cutting the money bus operators get from carrying elderly and disabled people for free.
Activists in Cambridge are already planning a fightback against the bus cuts.
Cambridgeshire Against the Cuts, together with local Unite union members will be holding a picket of the Cambridgeshire County Council meeting on 15 February.
