Escalate strikes at call centres

Issue No. 2239

The PCS civil service workers’ union is moving towards escalating the fight against bad working conditions in Jobcentre Plus call centres.

Around 3,000 workers struck solidly for two days last month in seven call centres.

Workers are battling against being transferred from benefit delivery offices.

The union has agreed to ballot its thousands of other members in the 30 existing call centres to step up the pressure on management.
