Vote for the left in NUS elections

Issue No. 2241

A number of left wing candidates are standing for election to positions on the national executive of the National Union of Students (NUS).

The elections, which will take place at next month’s NUS conference, follow mass, radical student protests that have shaken the government—and led to current NUS president Aaron Porter standing down.

Mark Bergfeld, currently on the NUS national executive, is standing for president and Michael Chessum for vice‑president higher education.

Other left candidates include Ruby Hirsch, Joana Pinto, Sean Rillo Razcka and Aaron Kiely.
