Issue No. 2242

More than 1,500 people attended the positive and successful 6 Billion Ways conference in London last Saturday.

A number of NGOs—including War on Want, the World Development Movement and People & Planet—organised the event.

Keynote speakers included Palestinian activist Omar Barghouti, former Guantanamo prisoner Moazzam Begg, economist Samir Amin and Green Party MP Caroline Lucas.

Egyptian revolutionary socialist Gigi Ibrahim, who is also speaking at the SWP’s Revolution in the 21st century event this Sunday, spoke at the final plenary session.

The event ended with a call to mobilise for the TUC’s demonstration on Saturday 26 March.
