Lecturers round-up

Issue No. 2243

UCU members at Liverpool Hope University have voted overwhelmingly for strikes against job cuts.

Some 83 percent backed strikes. More than 100 jobs are at risk at the university.

Management at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen have derecognised the UCU and Unite unions.

The conference of EIS union in Scottish FE showed a determination to fight the cuts. Motions on coordinated strike action in FE, a general strike, and affiliation to the Right to Work campaign were passed.
