Defend a woman’s right to choose

Issue No. 2244

Activists in the Abortion Rights campaign met on Saturday for their annual general meeting. Kay Carberry, TUC assistant general secretary, spoke about the importance of trade unionists taking up the issue of a woman’s right to choose.

Speakers pointed to the impact of the government’s cuts on local sexual health services, especially for young people.

The meeting agreed to campaign to raise the profile of Abortion Rights across student campuses and challenge anti-abortion organisations who picket abortion clinics and give lectures in schools.
