Loan safety net to be removed

Issue No. 2244

The Tories plan to scrap crisis loans for essential household items at the end of this month, in a vicious attack on people facing destitution.

They will no longer be able to get crisis loans for items like a bed or a cooker.

All crisis loans will be limited to three a year. The average loan is just £100.
