All London Underground drivers in the RMT union are balloting for strikes against the victimisation of Eamon Lynch and Arwyn Thomas.
Eamon Lynch is an RMT Bakerloo Line drivers’ health and safety rep. He has been sacked but remains on full pay following a victory at an “interim relief” Employment Tribunal.
Bosses sacked Arwyn Thomas, a driver at Morden, on disciplinary charges after strikebreakers made allegations against him.
He has also won an interim relief hearing.
RMT general secretary Bob Crow said, “The attack on Eamon Lynch and Arwyn Thomas is the clearest cut case of victimisation on the grounds of trade union activities that you will ever see.
“We are balloting all of our drivers to send out the clearest signal that workers who stand up for tube safety will get the full support of RMT members.”
The ballot closes on 27 April.
