Anti-Tory mood at Leeds University

Over 50 students marched to the Leeds University Senate meeting on Thursday of last week.

The emergency protest was against the decision to set fees at £9,000.

Students were disgusted that the vice-chancellor, Michael Arthur, who pockets over £300,000 a year in pay and benefits, had pushed for the maximum £9,000 fee.

On the same day, more than 90 medical students crammed into a lecture theatre to hear Professor Wendy Savage give a damning presentation of the impact of the government’s health reforms.
