Bahraini activists face new repression

Issue No. 2246

Government repression of Bahraini activists inside and outside the Gulf state continues.

Security forces last week raided the home of the teachers’ association president in Bahrain, Mr Mahdi Abu Thaib, in the middle of the night.

The authorities interrogated his wife and children for two hours.

Reports are emerging that activists who were detained have been found dead.

Meanwhile, more Bahraini students in Britain who have called for the downfall of the regime have had their scholarships removed, as Socialist Worker revealed last week.

Bahraini students in Manchester held a protest against the attacks with their supporters last week.

But everyone can do something to help.
