The Socialist Workers Party is part of the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC). TUSC is standing 154 candidates across more than 50 councils in the upcoming elections on 5 May.
TUSC is also backing socialists from different organisations standing in a further 28 seats.
The elections are an opportunity for everyone who opposes the Tory cuts to voice their anger by voting for an alternative to the mainstream parties.
TUSC candidates are opposed to all cuts and to the privatisation of services. They reject increases in council tax, rent and service charges to compensate for government cuts.
They stand for investment in publicly owned and controlled renewable energy, the repeal of the anti-trade union laws, and the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.
Voting for TUSC is part of a wider campaign, hitting back at a government that wants to ruin ordinary people’s lives.
