Tube workers don't want shoddy deal

Issue No. 2248

Trade unions on London Underground are furious with management’s planned pay deal. The right wing media has produced shrieks of outrage at this, but the unions are entirely in the right.

Bosses offered the TSSA union a five-year deal with 4 percent this year and the RPI rate of inflation plus 0.25 percent for the next four years.

This would mean a pay cut this year and unions being tied into a long-term agreement, which could see workers’ living standards decline.
