Kiss-in protest over homophobia

Issue No. 2248

over 300 people protested outside the John Snow pub in London’s Soho area on Friday of last week.

Two gay men say they were thrown out of the pub after kissing two days before.

A “kiss-in” was rapidly organised in protest.

In between kisses, people chanted “We’re here, we’re queer and we won’t buy your beer” and “Listen up, John Snow—homophobia’s got to go”.

The pub closed for the evening, which must have cost it dear on a warm Friday night in Soho. As yet no apology has been received from the pub.

Further protests are planned.
