Teachers in Glasgow met with EIS union leaders last week to discuss cuts to pay and conditions, which the union is urging members to accept.

The new deal was brought to the table despite 98 percent of members voting to reject similar proposals.

People at the meeting were angry and officials seemed shaken by this. Whatever the result of an indicative ballot this week there will be increased pressure on the EIS leaders after this.
