This year May Day celebrations around the country are coming together with anti-cuts campaigns. Here are some of this weekend’s events:

Birmingham
May Day Demonstration against Cuts

March to a rally at Chamberlain Square

May Day Festival
Monday 2 May
May Day parade from Burnley Town Hall, assembles 12 noon
Festival in Towneley Park from 11am

Cambridge
Demonstration Against Cuts and Privatisation
Saturday 30 April
Assemble 12 noon outside the Guildhall, Market Sq, for march at 1pm
Bring banners, stories, anger, ideas, colleagues and friends

Chesterfield
34th People’s Gala and Demonstration
Monday 2 May
Assemble 10.30am, Town Hall
Rally in New Square at 12 noon
With market stalls and street entertainment

Coventry
No to Cuts—Yes to Unity Rally
Saturday 30 April
Assemble 11am, opposite Council House, Earl Street
March through Coventry city centre
With stalls and music—bring your banners and flags

Dundee
May Day Anti-Cuts March and Rally
May Day comes early to Dundee: a full day of protest and partying
