Packed meeting for Bryan Simpson

Issue No. 2250

Up to 200 people attended a public meeting in defence of student protester Bryan Simpson at Strathclyde university last Friday.

NUS president-elect Liam Burns and others urged support for Bryan, who faces a charge of “violent disorder” after joining the student protests in London last year.

Bryan’s court hearing is set for 12 May.

Unions should pass motions in his support.
