Over 200 campaigners joined a lively march through Stoke called “Defending jobs, Standing up for communities” on Saturday of last week.
The protest, organised by the postal workers’ CWU union, was called to defend 400 jobs under threat at Royal Mail’s customer service centre.
Organisers were also determined to show their opposition to the Nazi BNP.
The racist English Defence League’s hopes of an unopposed presence in Weymouth last Saturday were wrecked by a strong counter-protest of 250, which outnumbered the largely imported racists.
