Democracy Alliance success on PCS Exec

Issue No. 2251

Elections to the PCS national executive saw a victory for the centre-left Democracy Alliance slate.

It retains a thumping majority on the union’s ruling body.

Socialist Worker supporters Sue Bond and Andy Reid were re-elected to the executive, and Paul Williams won his place back.

The turnout was low at 10.8 percent.

The union leadership needs to engage the membership in the coming fight over pay, pensions and job cuts.
