Renewables can meet energy need

Renewable energy sources could supply 80 percent of the world’s energy within 40 years if governments choose them.

That’s the remarkable conclusion of a new landmark study by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

It says that investing in renewables can keep carbon emissions below levels that would create catastrophic climate change.

The report predicts that renewables will play a more important role than nuclear power or carbon capture and storage by 2050.
