Call for inquiry into restraint

Issue No. 2252

A report into the death of Jimmy Mubenga by the charity Inquest calls for a parliamentary committee inquiry into the use of restraint in deportation.

Mubenga died last year after being forced onto a plane at Heathrow Airport by G4S security during a Home Office deportation to Angola.

Inquest has reported its concerns to the relevant United Nations Special Rapporteurs on Extra Judicial, Summary or Arbitrary Executions and other international bodies.
