Postal workers, their families and supporters protested outside the Mount Pleasant centre in central London last week against the planned closure of the workplace nursery.

Angela McNaughton told Socialist Worker that she has worked at the office for 12 years and depends on the nursery to take care of her one-year old daughter Micha while she works her shifts.

She said, “The nursery is open from 6am to 9pm, and that fits in with at least some of our shifts.

“I am a single parent and if the nursery closes I will be forced out of work.”

Mount Pleasant CWU branch secretary Roger Charles said, “We are determined to fight to save it.”
